Skip Out on Cold and Flu Season This Year

Again we find ourselves at the opposite side of the solar system, 186 million miles from where we were six months ago—and who says we don’t get around. With this change in relative position to the sun we can expect cooler days, longer nights and the onset of yet another cold and flu season. Though vaccinations and bottles of alcohol gel would seem to be our greatest hope for survival, the flu vaccine does not cover for the myriad of other viruses that cause flu-like syndromes and limiting contact only offers so much protection. In actuality, the best defense is a healthy immune system. Healthy people recover quickly when they do get sick and are less apt to get sick in the first place, therefore providing reduced opportunities to pass disease on to others.

Can You Guess the Two Most Potent Toxins?

Recently I was asked to do a talk on the topic of body purification and detoxification. At the beginning of the lecture I asked for anyone to name the two most potent toxins that threaten our health. Answers, of course, ranged from pesticides to mercury, air pollution to water pollution; but it was, admittedly, a trick question.

Tame the Fire!

I like using a forest fire analogy to explain what the Vital Plan is all about. Treating symptoms of disease only is like spraying water on a forest fire and then waiting until it catches flames again. While it is sometimes necessary to “put out fires” to control a situation, it is also important to analyze the factors that caused the fire in the first place and take measures to prevent future fires from occurring.
