Flexible Footwear

I couldn’t believe it. All the way to Utah to hike the national parks and I forgot to pack my hiking boots. A pair of moccasin-style Sperry “comfort shoes” on my feet and a pair of Chaco sandals in my bag were the only foot coverings I brought. I was about to drop a significant amount of change for a new pair of hiking boots, when I reconsidered.

Tame the Fire!

I like using a forest fire analogy to explain what the Vital Plan is all about. Treating symptoms of disease only is like spraying water on a forest fire and then waiting until it catches flames again. While it is sometimes necessary to “put out fires” to control a situation, it is also important to analyze the factors that caused the fire in the first place and take measures to prevent future fires from occurring.
